In the fourth quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Bulgaria showed varied performance across different platforms. According to data from Sensor Tower, notable trends emerged for the top five apps on a unified platform.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw a fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at around 1.9K and reaching a peak of 2.2K in mid-October. However, by the end of December, downloads had decreased to approximately 1.3K. The active user count began at 13.3K, increased to a peak of 16.5K in late October, and then declined to 7K by the end of the year.

TUDA — rides and delivery maintained a relatively stable download rate, starting at 2.1K and finishing the quarter with 1.7K downloads. Active user numbers were consistent, ranging from 11K at the start of the quarter to 11K at the close, indicating a steady user base.

Uber - Request a ride experienced stable download figures throughout the quarter, beginning with 1.1K and ending with 1.1K. Active users showed minor fluctuations, with numbers starting at 22.2K, slightly increasing to 23.7K by the end of December.

Careem – rides, food & more had modest download numbers, starting at 99 and rising steadily to 245 by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, beginning at 318 and increasing to 491, indicating gradual growth.

Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery showed a similar pattern, with downloads starting at 107 and climbing to 291. Active users also increased, beginning at 5.6K and reaching 6.1K by the quarter's end.
